His Story

Zakary Phaneuf is a high-performance coach, entrepreneur, and former elite-level hockey player known for his leadership both on and off the ice. Having played at competitive levels and serving as captain on the majority of his teams, Zak developed a natural ability to inspire, lead, and elevate those around him.

Driven by a deep passion for growth, he expanded his expertise beyond sport to master both physical and mental performance. At just 21, he became a certified personal trainer through the Ataraxia School, building a strong foundation in strength, conditioning, and athletic development.

During the pandemic, Zak turned inward and began studying mindset and human potential with the Proctor Gallagher Institute, where he developed a powerful understanding of the mind, the Law of Attraction, and performance psychology. Today, he is a Proctor Gallagher Consultant, coaching children, teenagers, and athletes on how to harness the power of their thoughts to unlock their full potential.

Zakary is now co-owner, coach, and Peak Mentality Instructor at Phaneuf Hockey, a company he leads alongside his brother Storm. Through this platform, he delivers both on-ice development and mental performance training, helping young athletes build confidence, discipline, and a champion mindset.

He is also the co-creator and facilitator of Peak Mentality – The Champion’s Mindset, a weekly live program designed to rewire thinking patterns, strengthen self-image, and develop the mental resilience required to perform at the highest levels.

Beyond the rink, Zak’s mission is clear: to impact lives on a global scale by helping individuals optimize their potential, elevate their mindset, and step into the highest version of themselves—both in sport and in life.
